Restoring from Brokenness

Over the next little while we will be taking some time to reflect on what we find in the Old Testament book of Nehemiah.

We’ll be using the book to explore the broad theme of restoring from brokenness and looking at that relates to our individual lives. Nehemiah observes the mess Jerusalem is in and senses the call of God within to do something about it.

He sets about a process for rebuilding walls and involving people in the task. Along the way there is opposition and challenge as he seeks to restore what is broken.

We’ll be starting with the premise that all of us are ‘broken’ in different ways, that in each of our lives there is a certain degree of mess and chaos that causes us pain and shame. But that there is also hope and a way forward.

So that’s the plan for the next little while on Sundays
